Who Am I?

The most common question I get is, "How did you get into lighting design?" Like most folks in this industry, that answer is a long and winding road. As a theatre nerd in high school, I was always looking for opportunities to involve myself in various forms of production, which landed me with a summer job at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, a 12,000 capacity amphitheater in the heart of Long Island, New York. After working with the Nassau County Parks Department for a few years, I shifted my focus to New York City, and became the lead lighting designer for The Bowery Ballroom. After cutting my teeth on over 600 shows at The Bowery, it was time to start stretching my designer legs, and I began the process of marketing myself to the various connections I had made while working in the NYC club circuit. Ten years later, I find myself a seasoned vet of the industry with multiple international projects under my belt.
